No one can stop me from learning

When I was 13 years old, I took voice lessons, at first I just want to be like Sarah Geronimo who can hit high notes. I was a girl who wants to be famous and be on the lime light, but it changes after a year.

When I was taking voice lesson for a year, my teacher taught me some broadway songs and I started to love it. Then from that day we started to study a new song every week and I am enjoying it. Broadway songs challenges me so much, it brings the best in me. It was also the time when my teacher told me that she will teach me the classical way of singing and I was just so glad, it was just like accelerating from grade 1 to grade 6. But many challenges comes on my way.

I taught when I will be able to learn broadway songs and classical music, everyone will love my voice, but then they actually don't. They want singers who sings pop songs and ballad, they don't appriciate classical or broadway songs. They always imitate me whenever I am using my artificial voice to stop me from singing. There was also a time when I was about to sing for a school singing competition, but my teacher replaces me a week before the competition because she heard me singing in falsetto voice. It is too painful for me. I actually lost my confidence. Gladly my voice lessons continues and my teacher build my confidence back again.

I've learn to love myself and my music, though I was still able to hear negative comments about my singing, but I just strengthen my mind and always tell myself that they don't know my music, so they are not judging me, but judging what they don't know.

There was a time when I asked my teacher what course should I take if I want to pursue music, and she told me that there are courses that I could take, but I need to learn to play piano and read music notes first. So I did I took piano lesson too with the same teacher. It was fun singing and playing piano at the same time, but life really loves to give you challenges when you are enjoying your life.

My father resigns from his job and decided to work back here in our country, since my father will gt lower salary here I have to stop my music lessons first and to think for another course other than Bachelor of Music major in Voice Performance. it's been 6 months now since I stopped attending music classes, it lessen my confidence but didn't stop me from learning. I am collecting music sheets and studying it alone. I don't want to end my music journey here, I want to pursue my dreams no matter what, this might not be the right time but I know God has a plan for me, and I will trust his plans and his timing.
