Left With Chains

Your smile lights up the room
People around you are crying out for help
Some have tears
Some don’t
You are the light that gave them hope
You held them in your arms as if they are yours
Patiently, one at a time you light up their world
Until the room was filled with laughter and smile
You hold their chains that they are free from
As you walk their chains are ringing in your ears
Little by little the chains are getting heavier
But it is okay the room is still bright, you can still smile
As you look back you can see them confidently letting go of their chains
So many chains are falling
But only you can hear them
Your eyes became brighter Finally they are flying away from their chains
But as they fly they remove those chains that connect you to them In the end they let you fall
You looked at your hands and it was full of chains
Chains that were ones they own
They are now yours
“Let go of your chains,” you told them
And it kept singing in your ears
But as you try to let their chains fall
They are slowly falling
Their chains are hunting them again
So even before they get caught
You embrace their chains You are embracing it as if you own them
You were ones their light
But you seem to dim
Now they are your light
But they left you
Now you are looking above
Watching them fly
The chains that your holding are the ones they left
Including you
Now you are wearing a smile
But it doesn’t light up the room
You are happy to see them fly
But you are left with nothing but chains
The world was too beautiful not to see
But to painful to feel
Those people whom you set free
Imprisoned you to their darkest time
